"Best Doctor I have ever seen as a primary care physician, I can see why I never wanted one before, you can’t establish trust in those short shuffle in and out visits where you feel more like cattle. She takes the time to actually talk to you about everything that you might need and dives into take care of yourself as a whole."

"Dr. Cynthia Villacis is amazing! She was able to see me, as a new patient, the same day. I waited less than 5 minutes to see Dr. Villacis and she spent almost an hour with me. A few days later, when I had questions about potential side effects of my Rx, I was able to send them to her via her secured app. She called me back within minutes, on a holiday weekend to answer my questions. If you need a new primary care doc, look no further!”
- Christine, Facebook Review
"Having Dr. Villacis as my primary doctor has changed my life. For the first time in years I feel that I'm in good hands, and not just a number. She thinks about everything I tell her and makes me part of the decision-making process about my own care. And she calls me back! I highly, highly recommend her."

DPC isn’t insurance—it’s a way to get easier, faster access to your doctor for day-to-day care. Many members use their insurance for major things (like hospital visits) and use DPC for everything else—like checkups, sick visits, and chronic condition support.

Our members love the peace of mind that comes with unlimited access to care—whether it’s one big question, several small ones, or a new concern. DPC is also about prevention, not just treatment.

Longer visits, same- or next-day appointments, chronic disease management, lifestyle support, mental health screening, basic labs at discounted rates, and personalized care—without the rush or red tape.

DPC often saves you money in the long run. Many of our patients avoid urgent care, high copays, and missed work by getting timely help when they need it—included in their membership.

You’ll still use insurance for hospital visits, specialists, and major procedures. We’ll help coordinate care and make sure you understand your options, whether you’re insured or uninsured.

DPC is similar in that you pay a monthly fee, but we don’t bill insurance at all—and our fees are usually much more affordable. It’s primary care that’s more personal, accessible, and straightforward.

Dr. Cynthia Villacis, MD
Bilingual Family Physician, Civil Surgeon and Life Coach
I’m Dr. Cynthia Villacis, a family physician with over 20 years of experience—and someone who has walked many of the same health journeys as my patients. I’ve faced challenges with weight, blood sugar, stress, and sleep, and I understand how frustrating it can feel to do “all the right things” and still not get answers.
My approach to care is shaped by both personal experience and a lifelong exposure to service and human-centered values. I was raised in a Unitarian Universalist tradition and grew up in a family rooted in advocacy—both of my grandfathers were American Baptist ministers, and my mother worked in social services. From an early age, I was exposed to the women’s movement, domestic violence shelters, and community programs for adults living with serious mental illness. These experiences taught me that health is inseparable from dignity, safety, education, and support.
That foundation led me to spend more than 12 years working in community health centers and ultimately to create Health Connections DPC—a practice designed to offer unhurried, judgment-free, whole-person care. I take time to listen, identify root causes, and help patients build realistic plans that fit their lives. I proudly serve a diverse and inclusive community, including immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals, and Spanish-speaking families, with respect and compassion.
I completed my Family Medicine residency in 2002 and have spent over two decades helping patients manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity through a root-cause approach grounded in lifestyle medicine. I am board certified in Family Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, and Addiction Medicine, with special interests in obesity management and metabolic health, as well as mental health, women’s health, and immigrant health. I believe health begins with understanding, and that education is the foundation for lasting change.
After years in a busy community health center, I recognized that 10–15 minute visits were not enough—especially for patients navigating stress, trauma, weight changes, or hormonal transitions. In 2017, I opened my own practice to offer longer visits, easier access, and relationship-based care that allows real healing to happen.
My practice is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. I learned Spanish while living in Ecuador as an exchange student in 1988—where I also met my future husband—and I remain deeply committed to caring for immigrant families. I am also a designated civil surgeon, providing USCIS I-693 immigration medical exams in a compassionate, low-stress environment.
Outside the office, I’m a proud mom of two grown children, wife of over 30 years, and an outdoor enthusiast. I enjoy kayaking, yoga, hiking, scuba diving, and exploring new places—and I believe joyful movement and adventure are possible at any size. My own journey with metabolic health and self-compassion continues to inform the care I offer my patients.
If you’re looking for a doctor who sees the full picture—body, mind, and lifestyle—and who truly takes the time to listen, I’d love to welcome you to Health Connections DPC.

👩💼 Meet Gisselle
Bilingual Medical Assistant & Office Manager
I first joined Health Connections DPC in 2023 and returned in the fall of 2024 after completing my Associate’s Degree in Business. It’s an honor to now serve as both a medical assistant and the office manager, supporting our patients and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
Originally from Puerto Rico, I moved to Kentucky in 2017 and have been dedicated ever since to helping people from all backgrounds feel cared for and understood. As a bilingual team member, I take pride in bridging language and cultural gaps — ensuring that both English and Spanish-speaking patients receive the clear, compassionate care they deserve.
I love learning and am always looking for ways to grow in my role and serve our community even better. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, knitting, and spending quality time with my family — the people who keep me grounded and inspired.
